Monolithic Power Systems Stock Surges on Strong Earnings and Optimistic Forecast
Monolithic Power Systems (MPWR) led the S&P 500's gainers Friday, climbing roughly 10% after surpassing second-quarter estimates and issuing a bullish third-quarter outlook. The semiconductor firm reported adjusted earnings of $4.21 per share on revenue of $664.6 million, beating Visible Alpha consensus estimates of $4.13 and $652.1 million respectively.
For Q3, MPS projects revenue between $710-$730 million, significantly above analysts' $681 million expectation. CEO Michael Hsing emphasized the company's transition from a chip supplier to a full silicon solutions provider as key to sustained growth. Shares have gained nearly 33% year-to-date in 2025.
